The Assessor Training short course is designed for anyone who needs to assess against standards in their workplace or for a training provider. This includes any standard measurement within an organisation, for example, unit standards, standard operating procedures.

The Candidate will be able to:
• Explain the roles of NZQA, ITOs and PTEs
• Plan an assessment that meets the candidates and industries requirements, eg Standard Operating Procedures and work tasks.
• Conduct an assessment using industry assessment tools, not unit standard based
• Make assessment decisions that comply with the principles of competence based assessment
• Provide feedback to candidates related to the assessment
• Record assessment decisions and data in accordance with industry requirements.
