Our Meat Packing Programme is an entry level qualification aimed at anyone working in the meat industry, in retail, wholesale or distribution areas.

  • The carefully structured distance learning package is designed to be easy for the learner and employer to follow and develops the learner’s underpinning knowledge of the meat trade.  You will need a workplace assessor to assess your on-job learning.
  • Training can be supported by workshops if required.  All our workshops have a flexible design and can be customised to include your company’s food safety operating procedures and other key areas of your business.

At the end of this Level 2 programme you will:

  • Have the skills you need to control stock, wrap and label meat products, and produce meat products for display using safe and hygienic methods
  • Provide good customer service by communicating effectively

The Butchery Apprenticeship Programme is a hassle free training programme.

It covers all coaching, mentoring, and off-job training and assessment requirements of your apprenticeship.

At the end of the training you will:

  • Become a fully qualified butcher, by demonstrating knowledge of, and practical skills in breaking and boning of carcasses, tray cutting, and presentation of meats
  • Understand food safety, legislation, loss prevention and stock control
  •  Have an understanding of customer service, cooking of meat products, and merchandising of meat cuts

 

Forecasting, Purchasing and Production
National Certificate Programme (Level 4)

This Programme is designed for anyone who:

  • Assists with or manages decisions about meat products in meat retail or wholesale environments
  • Has completed their Butchery Apprenticeship and wants to continue their learning in the meat trade.

This distance learning programme, which requires workplace assessment, is carefully structured to make the learning process easy to follow for the learner, trainer and employer.
