Maintenance Best Practice Apprenticeship
Planning positive maintenance

What is Maintenance Best Practice (MBP)?

The Maintenance Best Practice (MBP) programme is a series of select courses that have the potential to increase productivity for your organisation by ensuring breakdowns in large complex machines and production lines are prevented through proactive maintenance and reliability strategies.

No matter what staff size, location or complexity of manufacturing operation, the MBP programme can offer huge benefits to an organisation by giving key staff the knowledge and skills in Maintenance and Reliability, or Maintenance Planning and Scheduling.

The Maintenance Best Practice (MBP) programme is ideally suited to any manufacturing, production or supply based organisation that seeks improved value and reliability. How? By having their own operators tradesmen or technical staff learning the MBP theory, then installing the maintenance best practice processes directly into their workplace.

The MBP programme offers a variety of learning packages from machine operator level through to advanced technical staff, and it can also be matched to meet the needs of a multitude of employee roles with one division, or an entire organisation.

The Maintenance Best Practice programme (MBP) is also ideal for trade apprentices that want to learn the key skills and knowledge behind best practice maintenance, and also gain a highly valuable and widely in demand qualification.

Maintenance Best Practice Apprenticeship Outline

Our Maintenance Best Practice Apprenticeship is a Level 5 diploma, integrated into a 4 year apprenticeship, which includes a component of cross-trade training for mechanical and electrical engineering.

Apprentices will learn to schedule and plan preventative maintenance and support planned asset management programmes to manage their assets in an optimal way. This has a direct impact on the return on investment for the employer as downtime can be planned and scheduled, breakdowns will be less frequent and repairs can be planned and budgeted.
